On behalf of our church family I'm glad to welcome you to this website for Bethel. We are not a perfect church but we have a desire to serv e Jesus in faithfulness to His instruction If you do not know Jesus as your Saviour we would invite you to discover what the Bible teaches us about our sin and God's remedy through Jesus. We would encourage you to check out the information available at this website. We welcome your interest. We would be glad for your inquiries. If there are specific ways we can be of service to you and your household please contact us. In Christ Jesus, Pastor Greg Drummond
I came to Bethel in 2007. Though born and raised in Southern Ontario, I also spent years living in Saskatchewan and Illinois before finally coming to Manitoba. I graduated from Briercrest College, and have served at churches in both urban and rural environments. I guess I like to keep things eclectic in my life, from where I live, to what I read, to the music I listen to. Driving down the road my car radio could be playing worship, jazz, movie soundtracks, dance or even British pop-rock. In 2005, I married my college-sweetheart Beth and we had our first child, Cordell, at the end of 2009. I have a burden for 20’s & 30’s, a generation that is passionate about community and the need to be known, heard, understood, and cared for. It’s made up of married people and single people, people from Christian homes, and those that aren’t. Yet it is also a generation that is severely absent from many churches. But God is doing something with this generation, and I’m excited, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it! When I’m not in the office, you'll find me sharing a meal or coffee around Winkler, chatting it up on facebook, hanging out at the hotspot, helping teach taekwondo in Morden, or spending quality time with my wife and son. If you just want to talk, if you’re interested about the young adult ministry at Bethel, if you want to share what God is doing in your life, or if you’re just trying to figure out what God’s doing… I’d love to connect with you! Pastor Harold Espinosa
My name is Harold Espinosa. I’ve been the Youth Pastor for almost 9 years at Bethel. I was asked to give a little description of myself. Well, here it goes lol. I was reared on a little Island called Puerto Rico. It’s normally hot and a beautiful place to live. The city I was born at is called Humacao. Life as a kid was hard. My family life was hurting due to abuse and drunkenness. As a kid, pain and the desire to not be home was number one on my heart. But one day a man named Pastor Al Sligh, the Pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Puerto Rico, went door to door witnessing. And on July of 1977, he knocked at our door and brought a big black book. I was ten at the time and was goofing around in my room with my twin brother. By the way, I am the handsome one .lol. That day Pastor Al told my mom about the Lord and the next Sunday my mom, brother and I were at the church. I heard powerful words about love, forgiveness, and healing on that beautiful sunny Sunday morning. Words from the Bible that gave me hope. It wasn’t till Friday night at Church where I watched the movie “Thief in the Night” and accepted the Lord as my personal Saviour. Then on Sunday I was baptized in the ocean and started my new life. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy, and life at home didn’t change. But I wasn’t alone any more. I had a friend to walk with me and give me strength through the hardest times in my life. As I grew up, I went to University and got my degrees in Elementary Education and Pastorial Studies in the USA. Then I went back to Puerto Rico to be a teacher and a youth leader in my home church. This is where I meet Teresa Wiebe, (the daughter of a missionary couple John and Mary Wiebe who were at the Evangelical School for the Deaf in Puerto Rico. Both of us fell in love and you know what happened next? She married me :) WOW! Today we have two awesome children. Emily, who is 13 and Jonathan, who is 11. Both are unique with great personalities and a love for adventure. If you ever come to Bethel, look me up. I’m the short latino that has plenty to say, “ How awesome is the Lord.” Romans 1:16
