On behalf of our church family I'm glad to welcome you to this website for Bethel.

We have been excited and encouraged in recent times by the opportunities that the Lord has
granted to us to serve Him in the lives of individuals, in our community, and around the world.

We are not a perfect church but we have a desire to serv e Jesus in faithfulness to His instruction
for our lives. We believe that this instruction is found in the Bible. We are serious about our desire to Exalt Christ, Equip and be Equipped for service, Edifying or building up others around us, and Evangelizing the lost.

If you do not know Jesus as your Saviour we would invite you to discover what the Bible teaches us about our sin and God's remedy through Jesus.

Pastor Mark Sawatzky
Associate Pastor

I am pleased to have joined the church family here at Bethel as the Associate Pastor in August 2011. I was previously involved in camp ministry at Winkler Bible Camp for the past 6 years and prior to that I was the Associate/Youth Pastor in Niverville. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the ministry opportunities that God has provided in the present and past. Each one of those ministries has provided me wonderful opportunities to grow and serve in a wide variety of areas and I am so thankful for all of those experiences. I am looking forward to my involvement at Bethel and continue to learn all the details and opportunities that exist in this dynamic congregation.

I am married to the love of my life, Irma and we have 3 amazing children, Carly (18), Marissa (16) and Ryan (14). We love in Winkler and enjoy a very busy lifestyle with church ministry and our children being very involved in a variety of sports. I am a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoy playing or watching pretty much any sport. As a family, we love playing games, camping and travelling, and just spending time together as a family. It is my desire that my life and our family reflect the joy that comes from attempting to walk in obedience to Christ and being His disciples.

I have been given the honour to work alongside the Bethel congregation leaders to provide oversight to a wide variety or ministries (primarily in the Education department) and love the opportunities to preach, teach College and Career Sunday School, to be a speaker at both junior and senior youth groups. It is my passion to challenge others to “be real” in their faith as they seek to follow the King of Kings. My life verse sums up who I attempt to be is 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and self discipline.” I hope that God can use me to reflect His love and passion to build into people’s lives.
